Everything You Wanted to Know About Indians But Were Afraid to Ask

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Event Details

What have you always wanted to know about Indians? There are eleven reservations in Minnesota, many throughout the Arrowhead Region, but the native and nonnative worlds rarely interact in a way that lets us really learn from one another. White/Indian relations are often characterized by guilt and anger. With an eye for safe space and a deep knowledge of the Ojibwe language, culture, and history, author Anton Treuer will answer your questions. This presentation is a conversation—with you. Treuer gives a frank, funny, and sometimes personal tour of Indian country that cuts through the emotion and builds a foundation for true understanding and positive action.

Paid for in part by the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
